Project Deatails:

An architectural marvel, The Oasis of the Seas spans 16 decks, 220,000 gross registered tons, carries 5,400 guests. Currently it is 50% larger than the largest cruise vessel in the world and promises to be a “complete sensory experience” for its passengers. The dazzling AquaTheater at the stern of the ship is pool by day, transforming in the evening to feature water and light shows of a scale unimagined in a passenger ship.

Design Challenge
With the design concept complete, the challenge to Crystal Fountains was to “make it all work”. Involvement on a ship considered revolutionary required tremendous collaboration in Project Management as well as ingenuity in Product and Systems design. For passenger safety, the design adhered to the most stringent health and safety guidelines including all water being in constant circulation.

Planning and Project Management
Modern shipbuilding uses prefabricated “block construction” techniques. So, for example, the control panel had to be installed before any of the other work on the Aqua Theater requiring comprehensive assumptions and design flexibility.
