Project Features:

  • 124 - NPN025 Custom Pop Jets arranged in 6 circular arrays
  • 124 – LED007 custom submersible LED RGB slab-hung fixtures

Project Details:

This water feature is located at ground level and within the central atrium area of Galeria Malta mall. A 25m/82ft high glass dome roof is situated overhead. As the focal point to the atrium, this circular water feature can transform from a simple contemporary reflecting pool into a dynamic and ever-changing element. Water effects include pop jets to 1.2m/3.9ft operating heights.

Pop Jets are programmed for the following animation sequences:

a. Mode “A” Reflecting Pool

This mode has the entire raised water table filled overflowing into the perimeter overflow trough. The result is a

sophisticated and simple reflecting surface that compliments the surrounding architectural form. The black finishes allow for this effect.

b. Mode “B” Pop Jets – The Dome

All pop jets are activated simultaneously to form a “dome” or “half sphere”. Maximum jet heights are predetermined and set

3 according to resultant splash. Refer to CF computer simulation for design intent. Activation intervals shall range from 1 to 6 seconds.

c. Mode “C” Pop Jets – Spokes

A complete line of pop jets are activated across the pool on-at-a-time to generate one 360 degree cycle. This line of jets or “spoke” rotates in both directions as programmed. Pop jet heights are determined by the “dome” configuration. Activation intervals shall range from 1 to 6 seconds.

d. Mode “D” Pop Jets –Alternating Outer Spokes

Groups of 20 pop jet segments are activated simultaneously to generate 4 independent groupings within one 360 degree cycle. This “action/reaction” rotation pattern is reversed as desired. Activation intervals shall range from 1 to 6 seconds.

e. Mode “E” Pop Jets – Concentric Circles

One complete pop jet ring at-a-time (x6) is activated from inside to outside and reversed. This is considered an “action/reaction” pattern. Activation intervals shall range from 1 to 6 seconds.

f. Mode “F” Pop Jets – Random

Pop jets are randomly activated throughout the water table at intervals ranging from 1 second to 6 seconds. Typically a

minimum of two or three groups of three shall be activated at any one time. This is considered an “action/reaction” pattern.
