WATER FEATURE RISK FACTORS

When consulting on any water feature, Crystal Fountains performs a 10 point risk assessment process. We can help you with your water feature project before you get into trouble. Send us your concept drawings for a Red Line Review by our creative team or ask us about our Testing Facility. Some other factors to consider:

1) Splash

Proper ratio of basin to fountain height is important as well as wind considerations. Excess splashing could be a public irritant and cause staining of expensive finishes.

2) Water Feature Illumination

Optimizing an investment in lighting and illumination as well addressing public safety concerns with lighting.

3) Aesthetics/Performance

You may have a wonderful concept but can the water feature work as planned? Water features can be a big investment with much of the material and costs below the ground or concealed. Does the aesthetic performance equal or exceed the financial costs?

4) Budgetary

Does the design meet budget constraints? Does the budget address all the elements that should be included? Many water features are deleted or value-engineered because of the difference between the budget and actual installation costs.

5) Noise

Certain locations loan demand quieter fountains as some environments work best with a big, dramatic fountain. Ensure the water effects selected will produce the desired outcome.

6) Maintenance/Operational

Depending on the type of fountain desired, have maintenance and operational factors been provisioned for after post-commissioning?

7) Structural/Infrastructural

Fountains often are big space claimers, with much of the equipment below the fountain structure.

8) Capability/Complexity/Competency

Many modern water features are entertainment shows complete with specialty fabrications, computer controls, etc. Sourcing the proper skill set is important.

9) Health/Safety

A key consideration in any Crystal Fountains project is public health/safety. This includes velocity of nozzles, toe entrapment, slipping and water quality issues.

10) Time

Is there enough time to produce a quality fountain project based on vision?
